Primary Aluminum

Primary Aluminum (99.7% Al to 99.9% Al) is produced in Shot, Flake, 4-ounce Cones, and 5-pound Notchbar form for use in specialty steel making, metal alloying, chemical processes, catalyst production and other specialty markets.

(1) Aluminum is specified as a remainder for basic PXXYYA designations (XX being Si% maximum, YY being Fe% maximum). For all other designations aluminum is specified either as a remainder or as a minimum expressed as a multiple of 0.01 percent. The aluminum content for unalloyed aluminum not made by a refining process is the difference between 100.00 percent and the sum of all other metallic elements present in amounts of 0.010 percent or more each, expressed to the second decimal before determining the sum.
